How your result is worked out.
No black box. This is exactly how the check decides your level.
- 1
One mark a question
A right answer scores one mark. A wrong answer or “I’m not sure” scores nothing.
- 2
Lucky guesses are discounted
With four options, a guess is right one time in four, so your score at each level is adjusted for that.
- 3
A level has to be earned
Your level is the highest one where you answered at least about six in ten correctly, and held up well at every level below it.
- 4
Skills are shown separately
Each skill gets its own percentage, so you can see which one is pulling your level up and which is holding it back.
What the levels mean.
Your result uses the six CEFR levels. From B1 upwards it also shows the IELTS band range people at that level often reach, as a rough guide.
- A1 BeginnerFamiliar everyday expressions and very basic phrases. build everyday English first
- A2 ElementarySimple, routine exchanges on familiar topics. build everyday English first
- B1 IntermediateMost everyday situations, experiences, plans and opinions. IELTS around 4.0 to 5.0
- B2 Upper IntermediateFluent conversation and complex ideas on familiar topics. IELTS around 5.5 to 6.5
- C1 AdvancedFlexible English for study and work, and demanding texts. IELTS around 7.0 to 8.0
- C2 ProficientVirtually everything, with fine shades of meaning. IELTS around 8.5 to 9.0
The result is an initial indication for guidance, not an official IELTS or CEFR certificate.

Get an honest plan
We suggest the English or IELTS pathway that fits your level, in Karachi or online. There is no pressure to book.
Q1Is the level check really free?
Yes. There is no charge, nothing to sign up for and no obligation to book lessons. You answer 41 questions, which takes about 20 minutes, and your result appears on screen straight away.
Q2Is the result an official certificate?
No. It is an honest indication to guide your next step, not an official CEFR or IELTS certificate, and it should not be presented as one. Our team may confirm or adjust your level after speaking with you.
Q3Does it test speaking and writing?
No. The check covers grammar, vocabulary, reading and everyday language use. Speaking and writing are best judged by a person, so our team looks at those when we speak with you.
Q4What happens to my answers?
They stay in your browser. Nothing you answer is sent to us. If you choose to send your result on WhatsApp, we see the message you send, and nothing else.
Q5What if I do not know an answer?
Choose “I’m not sure”. A skipped question scores nothing, and it keeps your result honest, because a lucky guess can make your level look higher than it is.
Q6Can I take it again?
Yes, as often as you like. Each attempt draws a fresh mix of questions, so it is a useful way to see progress after a few weeks of study.
Rather talk first?
