What we collect when you use this website or contact us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: the free tools work in your browser, we see only what you choose to send us, and we never sell your information.
1Who we are
LEAD Linguistic is part of LEAD Counseling, 2nd Floor, Nazir Centre, Block 6, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Pakistan (“we”, “us”). You can contact us about privacy at support@leadcounseling.org or on +92 301 0220849.
2When you contact us
There are no forms on this website. When you message us on WhatsApp, call us or email us, we receive what you choose to share: usually your name, your number or email address, your message and, if you send it, your level check result or a piece of writing.
WhatsApp messages are delivered by WhatsApp, which handles them under its own privacy policy.
3When you use the free tools
The level check, mock tests, games, writing tasks, speaking practice and band calculator run in your own browser. Your answers and anything you write are not sent to us.
To let you carry on later, some things are kept in your browser’s storage on your device: an unfinished level check or mock test, writing drafts and best scores in games. You can remove them at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser.
The speaking practice asks to use your microphone only when you press Record. Recordings are made and played in your browser only. They are never uploaded to us and they are gone when you leave the page.
4Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are useful. It sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that tell one visit from another, and records things like the pages you view, your device and browser type, your approximate location by city or country and how you found the website.
We also send Google Analytics a few anonymous events: when a WhatsApp button is tapped, and when a tool is started or finished, with the result in general terms, such as the level reached, the goal chosen or a mock test band. We never send your name, number, answers or anything you type.
Separately, the website keeps simple daily totals of page views and button taps, with no cookies and nothing that identifies you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use the browser extension Google offers for switching Google Analytics off, at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The website works the same without them.
5How we use your information
To reply to you, understand your goals, recommend a learning pathway and coordinate lessons.
To see which pages and tools help people, so we can improve the website.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your permission.
6Who can see it
Authorised members of the LEAD Linguistic and LEAD Counseling team. If you are planning to study abroad and ask for it, we may share your details with LEAD Counseling advisers.
Some services help us run the website: our hosting provider stores the website and keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and to keep the site working, and Google provides the analytics described above. They act on our instructions.
7How long we keep it
Messages and enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you are a current student, and then deleted. Google Analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months. Daily totals are kept for 120 days.
8Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing support@leadcounseling.org. We will respond within 30 days.
9Security
The whole website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and its admin area is protected by passwords that only our team holds.
10Children
If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian knows you are contacting us. We will normally involve a parent or guardian before arranging lessons for anyone under 18.
11Changes
We may update this policy when the website or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
